It is supposed to be a run with a partner of the 11th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run as the concept itself. The 11th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run kicked off at the parade grounds of Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City with different types of running pairs—parents and kids, siblings, lolos and their apos, loved ones, officemates, best friends, even neighbors—competing in the 5K and 10K races.
I ran the 5km race alone since i already there at the venue. My partner (officemate) can’t make it as the hard rains keep on pouring that dawn of July 8, 2018. This was my second time around to join the Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run.
The organizer has announced that you have the option to run or not because they don’t want that the runners will get sick. It is the discretion of the runners if they wanted to run or not.
I decided to run by myself with no buddy together with the runners who decided too to run even while it is raining. the 5km and 10km races has joined together at once. So there is already no interval between the 5km and 10km races.
“We are happy to provide an opportunity for people to start their wellness journey in a fun and one-of-a-kind event with their partners. After all, getting fit and choosing the healthier lifestyle is more worthwhile when shared with a buddy,” said Jody Gadia, Robinsons Supermarket general manager.
Presented by Robinsons Supermarket, the 11th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run 5K race offered a top prize of a trip for 2 to Siargao with 3 days/2 nights hotel accommodation while 2nd and 3rd placers get Php8,000 worth of Robinsons gift certificates. For 10K race podium finishers, the top prize includes a trip for 2 to Hong Kong with 3 days/2 nights hotel accommodation while 2nd and 3rd placers get Php15,000 worth of Robinsons gift certificates.
After crossing the finish line with their buddies and celebrating fitness in a fun and exciting way, most of the participants also enjoyed exciting activity booths and took home big grocery loot bags that have been the trademark of the Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run through the years.
I had a bag full of goodies as a token for all the runners whether you ran or not. The loot bags contained lots of freebies from Nestle, Johnson & Johnson, Wyeth Nutrition, Abbott Nutrition, Fonterra and Unilab.
The fun run is in line with Robinsons Supermarket’s wellness commitment to continuously encourage more people to choose and live healthier lifestyles.
